About Dr. Graham S. Byng, President, Byng Biotech Consultants:

Dr. Byng has more than 22 years of industrial microbiology experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including 7 years at Miles Inc. and 15 years at MDS Panlabs/ MDS Pharma Services where he was Vice President and General Manager of the Biotechnology/ Fermentation Technologies Group. His key technology areas of expertise include classical yield improvement, microbial isolation, natural product chemistry, fermentation and process development, molecular biology as applied to pathway engineering and protein production, biocatalysis, dairy microbiology, carbohydrate polymers and food additives. He is a professional business development and sales executive with over fifteen years experience in world wide sales of services to the Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical and other industries. Dr. Byng has been responsible for sales and project management for multi million dollar projects with several of the major pharmaceutical companies. He has managed an international sales force and has long term arrangements with agents world wide.

Dr. Byng holds a Ph.D. and B.Sc. in biochemistry from Liverpool University, England. He conducted postdoctoral research at the State University of New York, Binghamton, NY. A frequent lecturer at scientific meetings, he also has published over 25 journal articles and has 17 patents and applications. Dr. Byng is a member of the American Society of Microbiology, Society for Industrial Microbiology and the American Chemical Society.
